The Earth is a Trust
In 1990, at the Kremlin in Moscow, a global forum on environment and development heard a simple message: the environmental crisis is not just a technical problem — it is a spiritual and moral crisis.
The audience was reminded that God made man a steward on Earth, and that the universe is a trust given to humanity. Corruption on land and sea, it was said, is a result of what human hands have earned.
The solution, it was argued, begins with purifying the soul and reforming the heart. Without a spiritual awakening, no technical or political effort will save the planet.
The call was for cooperation between honest politicians, virtuous scientists, and rational religious leaders — three forces that can create a peaceful environment and a harmonious coexistence.
The Earth, it was concluded, is God’s gift. Should we not be responsible and trustworthy?
